Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

1. Overview

LogPeak ("we", "our", "us") is a desktop log viewer application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect through the app and website, why, and how we handle it.

2. Data That Stays on Your Machine

LogPeak processes all log files locally on your computer. The desktop app does not upload, transmit, or store your log file contents, search queries, file paths, or AWS credentials on any external server.

3. Anonymous Usage Analytics

With your consent, LogPeak collects anonymous usage statistics via Google Analytics 4 (Measurement Protocol) to help us improve the product. This includes:

  • Application launch and quit events
  • Feature usage (which screens are opened)
  • App version and session identifiers (randomly generated UUID, not linked to your identity)

Through this usage analytics, we do not collect:

  • Log file contents or file names
  • Search queries or filter conditions
  • AWS credentials or S3 bucket names
  • Personal information (name, email, IP address)

4. Opt-in and Opt-out

Analytics is opt-in. You are asked for consent the first time you use the app. You can change your preference at any time in the application settings.

5. S3 Connection

When you connect to Amazon S3, LogPeak communicates directly with AWS using credentials stored locally on your machine. We do not proxy, intercept, or store your AWS credentials or S3 data.

6. Landing Page Analytics

Our website (this landing page) uses Google Analytics to understand visitor traffic. This is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

7. Contact Form

When you contact us, we collect your inquiry category, reply email address, message, and order number if provided. We use these to respond to your inquiry and resolve related issues. A name, account, or license key is not required. Please do not include AWS credentials, license keys, or other secrets in your message.

Cloudflare processes form submissions and network data to operate and protect the service. Turnstile processes your IP address and browser and device signals to detect bots; we send its verification token and your connection IP address to Cloudflare for verification. We also use SHA-256 hashes of your IP address and lowercased email address as rate limit keys to prevent abuse. Hashing does not guarantee anonymity.

We send the inquiry category, reply email address, message, and optional order number through Resend as a plain-text email to the operator's dedicated support mailbox. Your email address is used as the Reply-To address. Submissions are not published on the website, and no automatic reply is sent. We do not create a contact database or write your message or email address to application logs.

8. Third-Party Services

LogPeak uses the following third-party services:

  • Google Analytics 4 — anonymous usage analytics (desktop app, with consent; landing page)
  • Sentry — crash reporting and error tracking (desktop app, with consent). Collects error details, app version, and OS information. Does not collect log file contents or personal information.
  • Paddle — payment processing and merchant of record for Pro license purchases. Paddle collects your email address, billing address, and payment information to process transactions. See Paddle's Privacy Policy.
  • Amazon S3 — accessed directly by your machine when you choose to connect
  • Cloudflare — contact form hosting and processing, Turnstile bot protection, and rate limiting. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy and the Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
  • Resend — delivery of contact emails to our support mailbox, where our mailbox provider also processes them. See Resend's Privacy Policy.

9. Data Retention

Anonymous analytics and crash report data is retained in accordance with each provider's data retention policy (Google Analytics, Sentry).

We retain contact messages and related correspondence in our support mailbox for as long as needed to handle the inquiry and resolve related issues, and manually delete them when no longer needed. Cloudflare, Resend, and our mailbox provider may retain processing, delivery, or email records according to their respective policies and applicable service settings. Deleting a message from our mailbox does not by itself delete records held by these providers.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
